This artwork by John MacWhirter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in May this year. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Anglers by a waterfall sold for GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,076.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John MacWhirter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Exile's Garden in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John MacWhirter erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Anglers by a waterfall für GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.076,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Exile's Garden im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06).
