Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by John Grillo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,965.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Grillo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Grillo kam im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.965,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Grillo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58).
