This artwork by John Fabian Carlson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2002. In the FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE auction, the work March Floods sold for USD 32,900.00 (€ 37,999.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Fabian Carlson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Forest Silence sold at auction in September 2009 with the realized price of USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92).

In der Auktion FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE wurde die Arbeit March Floods für USD 32.900,00 (€ 37.999,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Fabian Carlson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Forest Silence im September 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.023,92).
