This artwork by John Milne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2019. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Cyrus sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,482.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Milne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vertical Form, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,252.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Milne erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Cyrus für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.482,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Milne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vertical Form beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.252,68) versteigert wurde.
