In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Intaglio by John Milne. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,492.51), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Milne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vertical Form, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,252.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Intaglio von John Milne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.492,51) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Milne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vertical Form beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.252,68) versteigert wurde.
