Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Dawson Watson could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Portrait of the artist as a violinist changed hands for GBP 562.50 (€ 650.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dawson Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fireside Thoughts in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Dawson Watson konnte im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of the artist as a violinist für GBP 562,50 (€ 650,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Dawson Watson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fireside Thoughts im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.066,40).
