The work Haystack, Inver by John Dawson Watson was sold in the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction at Sothebys in London in May 2014. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,304.44), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Dawson Watson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fireside Thoughts, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).

Die Arbeit Haystack, Inver von John Dawson Watson wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.304,44) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Dawson Watson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fireside Thoughts beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.066,40) versteigert wurde.
