Auction result well in line with expectations

In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work The quartet by John Dawson Watson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 785.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Dawson Watson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fireside Thoughts in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im März 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The quartet von John Dawson Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 785,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Dawson Watson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fireside Thoughts im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.066,40).
