Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Dawson Watson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2019. In the The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street auction, the work Fireside Thoughts sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,103.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Dawson Watson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fireside Thoughts sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Dawson Watson erzielte im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street wurde die Arbeit Fireside Thoughts für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.103,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Dawson Watson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Fireside Thoughts im März 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.066,40).
