Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Head W) by John Davies for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,541.77). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Davies - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brown Painted Head, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
