Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by John Currin was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 189,000.00 (€ 177,398.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Currin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nice 'n Easy in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 12,007,500.00 (€ 11,351,389.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Currin wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 177.398,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Currin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nice 'n Easy im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.007.500,00 (€ 11.351.389,68).
