A top price for John Currin - as previously expected
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Nice 'n Easy by John Currin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,007,500.00 (€ 11,351,389.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Nice 'n Easy is the most expensive artwork by John Currin that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nice 'n Easy von John Currin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.007.500,00 (€ 11.351.389,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Nice 'n Easy das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Currin, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
