Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages, which included the work Portrait of William Keith, 8th Earl Marischal (c. 1664-1712), three-quarter-length, in a purple coat, a white stock and a brown mantle with gold trim, holding a baton and leaning on a plinth by John Closterman. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,538.79). Other works by John Closterman have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,120.59) in June 2008 for the work Portrait Of Isabella Willis (D. 1727).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of William Keith, 8th Earl Marischal (c. 1664-1712), three-quarter-length, in a purple coat, a white stock and a brown mantle with gold trim, holding a baton and leaning on a plinth von John Closterman zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.538,79) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von John Closterman haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.120,59) im Juni 2008 für die Arbeit Portrait Of Isabella Willis (D. 1727) beobachtet.
