In October 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Masters Online, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Probably Mary Hale, Lady Coke Wife Of Sir Thomas Coke, Three-Quarter Length by John Closterman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,169.96), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Closterman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Isabella Willis (D. 1727), which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,120.59).

Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Masters Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Probably Mary Hale, Lady Coke Wife Of Sir Thomas Coke, Three-Quarter Length von John Closterman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.169,96) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Closterman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Isabella Willis (D. 1727) beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.120,59) versteigert wurde.
