Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Feeding time by John Charlton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,012.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Charlton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 55,875.00 (€ 63,846.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Feeding time von John Charlton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.012,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Charlton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.875,00 (€ 63.846,93).
