Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Sporting and Marine Art, which included the work A Chestnut Horse With A Sheepdog And Terrier In A Stable by John Charlton. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,289.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Charlton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 55,875.00 (€ 63,846.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Sporting and Marine Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Chestnut Horse With A Sheepdog And Terrier In A Stable von John Charlton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.289,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Charlton erzielen.
