This artwork by John Charlton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2014. In the The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision auction, the work Fireside companions sold for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 3,050.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Charlton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 55,875.00 (€ 63,846.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Charlton erzielte im September 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision wurde die Arbeit Fireside companions für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 3.050,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Charlton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.875,00 (€ 63.846,93).
