This artwork by John Callow achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2006. In the Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures) auction, the work Beating Up Channel sold for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,316.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by John Callow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Callow erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures) wurde die Arbeit Beating Up Channel für GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.316,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Callow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.590,45).
