Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Beached fishing boats below the cliffs by John Callow for GBP 293.75 (€ 409.27). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Callow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,590.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Beached fishing boats below the cliffs von John Callow für GBP 293,75 (€ 409,27) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Callow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping At Anchor Off The Coast im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.590,45).
