Auction result well in line with expectations
The work River From The Hills, In Full Spate by John Brandon Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,223.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Brandon Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A waterfall in a wooded river valley in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit River From The Hills, In Full Spate von John Brandon Smith kam im März 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.223,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Brandon Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A waterfall in a wooded river valley im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.602,46).
