The work A wooded river landscape with waterfall; and Another similar by John Brandon Smith was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,377.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by John Brandon Smith have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2000 the work A waterfall in a wooded river valley was auctioned for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46).
