In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Britbracklin Bridge Falls by John Brandon Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,763.16), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Brandon Smith have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46) in November 2000 for the work A waterfall in a wooded river valley.
