Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A waterfall in a wooded valley by John Brandon Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,680.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Brandon Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A waterfall in a wooded river valley in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A waterfall in a wooded valley von John Brandon Smith kam im September 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.680,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
