Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,820.00 (€ 4,609.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Brandon Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A waterfall in a wooded river valley, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,602.46).
