Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Taboo Family by John Alexander was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. It achieved a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,196.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by John Alexander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Good Fences Make Good Neighbors in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41).

Die Arbeit Taboo Family von John Alexander kam im März 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.196,59) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Alexander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Good Fences Make Good Neighbors im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41).
