Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Animalia, which included the work Night Stalker by John Alexander. The price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 20,535.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Alexander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Good Fences Make Good Neighbors, which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Animalia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Night Stalker von John Alexander zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 20.535,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Alexander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Good Fences Make Good Neighbors beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41) versteigert wurde.
