Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work The Sneeze? by John Alexander for USD 125.00 (€ 116.84). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Earl and Camilla McGrath at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Alexander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Good Fences Make Good Neighbors in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Sneeze? von John Alexander für USD 125,00 (€ 116,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Collection of Earl and Camilla McGrath bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Alexander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Good Fences Make Good Neighbors im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41).
