Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale, which included the work Estructura con formas trabadas by Joaquín Torres-García. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,260,000.00 (€ 1,174,168.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joaquín Torres-García - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Construcción En Blanco, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 3,380,000.00 (€ 3,031,662.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Estructura con formas trabadas von Joaquín Torres-García zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.260.000,00 (€ 1.174.168,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Torres-García mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Construcción En Blanco beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 3.380.000,00 (€ 3.031.662,03) versteigert wurde.
