Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Port of New York by Joaquín Torres-García. The price achieved of USD 604,800.00 (€ 571,428.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joaquín Torres-García have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Construcción En Blanco in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,380,000.00 (€ 3,031,662.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Port of New York von Joaquín Torres-García zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 571.428,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joaquín Torres-García auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Construcción En Blanco im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.380.000,00 (€ 3.031.662,03).
