Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Foam by Joan Eardley for GBP 22,950.00 (€ 26,736.50). This price was achieved in the auction Scottish Art at Bonhams in Edinburgh and was even below the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Joan Eardley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Foam von Joan Eardley für GBP 22.950,00 (€ 26.736,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Eardley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
