Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Georgie by Joan Eardley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 24,320.00 (€ 27,926.12), 22% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joan Eardley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Georgie von Joan Eardley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 24.320,00 (€ 27.926,12) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Eardley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
