Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Catterline by Joan Eardley for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,713.40). This price was achieved in the auction Scottish Art at Bonhams in Edinburgh and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Eardley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Catterline von Joan Eardley für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.713,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
