Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Auroria by Jim Drain. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,320.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jim Drain have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2012 the work LFSVR was auctioned for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,723.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Auroria von Jim Drain zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.320,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Jim Drain konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2012 die Arbeit LFSVR für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.723,09) versteigert.
