Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jim Drain could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online: NYC auction, the work M.D., 2004 changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 427.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Drain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LFSVR in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,723.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Drain konnte im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC wechselte die Arbeit M.D., 2004 für USD 500,00 (€ 427,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Drain erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LFSVR im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.723,09).
