Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jervis McEntee could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Windy Day After A Snowstorm changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,804.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jervis McEntee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gathering Firewood in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jervis McEntee konnte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Windy Day After A Snowstorm für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.804,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jervis McEntee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gathering Firewood im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 130.500,00 (€ 124.463,52).
