Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Gray Day In Hill Country by Jervis McEntee for USD 4,063.00 (€ 2,987.28). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jervis McEntee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gathering Firewood in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
