This artwork by Jervis McEntee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2008. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Autumn Lake Scene sold for USD 83,500.00 (€ 59,989.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jervis McEntee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gathering Firewood, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jervis McEntee erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Autumn Lake Scene für USD 83.500,00 (€ 59.989,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jervis McEntee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gathering Firewood beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für USD 130.500,00 (€ 124.463,52) versteigert wurde.
