Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fall Flowers On A Hillside by Jervis McEntee was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,403.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jervis McEntee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gathering Firewood in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fall Flowers On A Hillside von Jervis McEntee im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.403,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jervis McEntee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gathering Firewood im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 130.500,00 (€ 124.463,52).
