Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Near Schulls by Jervis McEntee was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,047.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jervis McEntee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gathering Firewood in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study Near Schulls von Jervis McEntee wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.047,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jervis McEntee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gathering Firewood im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 130.500,00 (€ 124.463,52).
