Portefeuille in-folio (372 x 283 mm). 20 planches coloriées au pochoir par Jean Saudé d'après les gouaches originales de Jean Hugo.
Un des 10 exemplaires de tête sur Japon mis dans le commerce, celui-ci le n°3, signé par Jean Hugo à la justification. Exemplaire bien complet du feuillet de table-justification. Cartonnage original de l'éditeur, pièce de titre imprimée au plat supérieur, avec les lacets (cartonnage frotté et sali, avec quelques manques).
Folio (372 x 283 mm). 20 plates coloured in pochoir by Jean Saudé after the original gouaches by Jean Hugo. One of the 10 deluxe copies on Japan paper, this copy numbered 3, signed by Kean Hugo on the colophon. The copy does contain the often missing leaf with the table and the colophon. Publisher's carboard binding, title label, ties (carboard rubbed and soiled, with minor chipping).

Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
When the work Le Miroir Magique. Paris : Jeanne Bucher, 1927 by Jean Hugo was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at EUR 16,250.00. Admittedly, works by Jean Hugo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les Métamorphoses in April 2012 with an auction result of EUR 69,400.00.
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Le Miroir Magique. Paris : Jeanne Bucher, 1927 von Jean Hugo im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 16.250,00 mehr als achtmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Hugo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les Métamorphoses im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 69.400,00.
