Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work La chapelle Sainte Colombe by Jean Hugo was worth EUR 20,160.00 to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes at Sothebys in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Hugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les Métamorphoses, which sold at auction in April 2012 for EUR 69,400.00.

Die Arbeit La chapelle Sainte Colombe von Jean Hugo war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres EUR 20.160,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Collection André Mourgues, Alexandre Iolas et ses artistes bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Hugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les Métamorphoses beobachtet, die im April 2012 für EUR 69.400,00 versteigert wurde.
