Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean-Honoré Fragonard could be acquired at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Photographs auction, the work Plate from Quatre Bacchanales or Jeux de satyres changed hands for USD 127.50 (€ 130.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Honoré Fragonard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Verrou (The Bolt) in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,172,000.00 (€ 7,681,613.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Honoré Fragonard konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Plate from Quatre Bacchanales or Jeux de satyres für USD 127,50 (€ 130,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Honoré Fragonard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Verrou (The Bolt) im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.172.000,00 (€ 7.681.613,89).
