Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Javier Marín achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Aquí sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 91,203.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Javier Marín; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Torso de hombre amarillo sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of USD 100,800.00 (€ 95,238.10).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Javier Marín erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Aquí für USD 107.100,00 (€ 91.203,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Javier Marín; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Torso de hombre amarillo im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 95.238,10).
