Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session), which included the work Chocolate Gnaw by Janine Antoni. The price achieved of USD 26,400.00 (€ 21,378.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janine Antoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gnaw in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 218,696.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chocolate Gnaw von Janine Antoni zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 26.400,00 (€ 21.378,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janine Antoni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gnaw im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 218.696,40).
