Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Half Cord by Jamie Wyeth was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,095.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamie Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,690,000.00 (€ 1,517,736.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Half Cord von Jamie Wyeth wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.095,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamie Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkinhead–Self-Portrait im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.690.000,00 (€ 1.517.736,87).
