Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Images by Jan van der Zee for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,678.33). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Zee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 40,468.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected Images von Jan van der Zee für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.678,33) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Zee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 40.468,67).
