Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by James Ranalph Jackson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2017. In the Australian Art auction, the work Summer Morning, Sydney Harbour sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,473.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Ranalph Jackson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Australian Beach Scene, Narabeen North sold at auction in August 2007 with the realized price of AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,656.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Ranalph Jackson erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Summer Morning, Sydney Harbour für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.473,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von James Ranalph Jackson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Australian Beach Scene, Narabeen North im August 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 31.200,00 (€ 18.656,87).
