Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian The Quiet Cove by James Ranalph Jackson. The price achieved of AUD 13,800.00 (€ 8,252.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Ranalph Jackson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Beach Scene, Narabeen North, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,656.87).
