Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Langford Mill, Maldon, Essex; The orchard in Blossom by James Herbert Snell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 600.00 (€ 885.79), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Herbert Snell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The willow pool in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,692.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Langford Mill, Maldon, Essex; The orchard in Blossom von James Herbert Snell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 885,79) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Herbert Snell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The willow pool im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.692,54).
