Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Farnham Common by James Herbert Snell. The price achieved of GBP 537.75 (€ 806.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by James Herbert Snell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The willow pool in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,692.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farnham Common von James Herbert Snell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 537,75 (€ 806,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Herbert Snell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The willow pool im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.692,54).
